Disclosure: This review is published by Remitano; Binance information was checked against its website, Help Centre, legal disclosures, fee schedule and app-store records in August 2026. Fees, rates, limits and product availability may change, so users should verify the live transaction screen before transferring crypto or Naira.
About Binance
What is Binance?
Binance is a centralised cryptocurrency exchange launched in 2017. “Centralised” means the platform runs the market and keeps the private keys for crypto held in an exchange account.
Its two most relevant strengths are deep spot-market liquidity and a broad range of crypto pairs. Spot trading is the immediate buying and selling of crypto rather than a derivatives contract. Binance uses an order book, which is a live list of buy and sell orders at different prices. A trader can use a market order to trade at the best available price or a limit order to choose a price and wait for a match.
Those tools are useful for crypto-to-crypto trading. They do not, however, answer the main local question: how a Nigerian user can move between crypto and Naira.
Binance in Nigeria: Important Facts
Can Nigerians register and complete KYC on Binance?
Binance has a Nigeria-locale registration page, and its app appears in the Nigerian Apple App Store and Google Play store. However, access to a page or app does not prove that every new Nigerian user can complete identity verification, also known as Know Your Customer or KYC, and use every product.
Completion of KYC with a new Nigerian account was not verified during this review. Check the country selection, accepted identity documents and products shown inside your own account before sending funds.
Does Binance have an NGN Wallet?
No active Binance NGN Wallet was verified for Nigeria. Binance stopped NGN deposits and withdrawals in March 2024 and converted remaining NGN balances to USDT under the process it announced at the time.
An NGN Wallet would let a user keep a Naira balance after selling crypto and decide when to withdraw it. That is different from holding only crypto and transferring it elsewhere to cash out.
Can users deposit or withdraw Naira on Binance?
Not according to the current verified evidence. Binance stopped accepting NGN deposits on 5 March 2024 and stopped NGN withdrawals on 8 March 2024. No later official restoration announcement had been verified by the August 2026 check.
Is Binance P2P NGN still available?
Binance delisted all NGN pairs from its peer-to-peer, or P2P, market on 28 February 2024. P2P means users trade directly with each other through offers shown on a marketplace.
Some Binance P2P pages with Nigerian settings can still load, but a visible interface does not prove that a working NGN market has live advertisements. Do not plan a cash-out around Binance P2P NGN unless your verified account shows real offers and a route you can complete.
Is Binance regulated by Nigeria's SEC?
Nigeria's Securities and Exchange Commission stated that Binance and its website were not registered or regulated by the Commission and warned Nigerian investors about dealing with the platform. No newer official notice reversing that position was identified in the approved research.
This is a statement about Binance's Nigerian regulatory position. It is not a claim that every act of holding or transferring crypto by an individual is unlawful. Readers can review the SEC Nigeria warning about Binance directly.
Wallet
Binance provides a custodial crypto wallet. This means Binance controls the private keys while a user's crypto remains in the exchange account. Globally, users may deposit crypto, trade and request a withdrawal to an external wallet, subject to the asset, blockchain network, account status and regional rules.
Withdrawal fees and minimum amounts vary by coin and network. Check the withdrawal screen before confirming a transfer. For Nigeria, the complete withdrawal flow should also be confirmed using a KYC-verified account because a global Help Centre page is not proof of regional access.
Buying and selling crypto
Binance offers several buying and selling methods globally, but availability differs by country. In Nigeria, no active native NGN deposit, withdrawal, spot pair or Convert pair was verified.
As a result, a Nigerian holding USDT on Binance may need to transfer it to another platform before converting it to Naira. That adds a network choice, a possible withdrawal fee, blockchain confirmation time and a separate settlement step.
Exchange and P2P
Binance's spot exchange uses an order book. Market orders prioritise speed, while limit orders give the user price control but may not fill immediately.
This helps on supported global crypto pairs. It does not provide Naira price control because Binance delisted BTC/NGN and USDT/NGN spot pairs. Binance also operates P2P in other markets, but its global P2P service is not evidence that NGN P2P is available.
Bank and NGN support
The current verified evidence does not establish a native Binance route for users to:
- deposit NGN into a Binance wallet;
- keep an NGN balance;
- trade BTC/NGN or USDT/NGN;
- withdraw NGN to a Nigerian bank; or
- use an active NGN P2P market.
If the goal is money in a Nigerian bank account, this local gap matters more than Binance's wider global product range.
Main products and features
Binance offers Spot, Convert, a custodial wallet and many advanced global products. Futures, bots, loans and earning products may serve other goals, but they do not solve the basic crypto-to-Naira problem and are not the focus of this review.
Why Compare Binance With Remitano?
Binance and Remitano focus on different needs. Binance is built around global crypto markets. Remitano provides several ways to move between crypto and local money, including Naira.
Remitano has three main transaction methods:
- Swap: Convert supported crypto and Naira inside the Remitano wallet. Market Price prioritises an immediate match. Your Price, where supported, lets the user choose a preferred rate and wait for a match.
- P2P Buy/Sell: Buyers and sellers trade directly. Sellers publish offers, buyers choose one, and Remitano holds the seller's crypto in escrow until payment is confirmed or a dispute is resolved. Escrow is a temporary lock that helps prevent either party from taking both the crypto and the money.
- Buy Coin and Sell Coin: Eligible users can use bank-linked routes to buy supported crypto with funds from a Nigerian bank or sell supported crypto and receive money through a Nigerian bank.
Remitano also connects a Coin Wallet for crypto with an NGN Wallet for Naira. A user can keep either balance and choose a different transaction method next time.
The Remitano vs Binance Nigeria comparison sets the two transaction models side by side.

Binance vs Remitano: Ways to Buy and Sell Crypto With Naira
Binance has no verified direct NGN route at the time of review. A Nigerian may still be able to use some crypto services if their account permits them, but another platform is needed to begin with Naira or end with Naira.
Remitano gives users a choice among Swap, P2P and eligible bank Buy/Sell. These are not three names for the same process. Swap is an in-wallet conversion. P2P lets a user choose another person's offer and uses escrow. Buy Coin and Sell Coin provide a bank-linked alternative for eligible users.
Binance vs Remitano: Fees and Transaction Costs
Binance's regular spot fee is published as 0.10% for both makers and takers, or 0.075% when an eligible BNB discount applies. A maker posts an order that waits on the order book; a taker accepts available liquidity. These rates are competitive for crypto spot trading, but they are not the cost of cashing out to Naira because Binance has no verified native NGN endpoint.
If USDT must leave Binance before cash-out, total cost may include a Binance withdrawal fee, blockchain cost and the receiving platform's fee or exchange-rate spread. No same-time test used the same amount and bank endpoint, so this review does not claim that either platform always provides the better final rate.
Remitano's published crypto–NGN fee structure is:
- USDT/NGN Your Price maker: 0.375%;
- USDT/NGN Market Price taker: 0.75%;
- BTC/NGN and ETH/NGN maker: 0.5%;
- BTC/NGN and ETH/NGN taker: 1%;
- P2P taker: 0%;
- NGN deposit platform fee: ₦0; and
- NGN withdrawal platform fee: ₦0.
The 0.375% rate is not an immediate-execution fee. It applies to a USDT/NGN Your Price maker order, which may wait for matching liquidity. Banks or payment providers may also charge separately.
Binance vs Remitano: Price Control and Execution
For supported global crypto pairs, Binance's order book and limit orders give experienced traders detailed control. For crypto–Naira transactions, Remitano provides the more relevant choices: Market Price for speed, Your Price to choose a rate where supported, and selectable P2P offers.
A limit order on BTC/USDT must not be treated as proof that Binance offers the same control on BTC/NGN or USDT/NGN. No active Binance NGN spot pair was verified.
Binance vs Remitano: Wallets and NGN Settlement
Both platforms use custodial crypto storage, but Remitano connects its Coin Wallet to an NGN Wallet. After converting crypto to Naira, a user can keep NGN in the wallet or continue to an eligible withdrawal route.
Binance has no verified NGN balance or withdrawal route. A user who needs Naira usually has to move crypto to another platform, making network choice and transfer cost part of the decision.
Binance vs Remitano: P2P Trading and Escrow
Remitano holds the seller's crypto in escrow until the payment is confirmed or a dispute is resolved. The user should still confirm that money has actually reached the bank account before releasing crypto.
Binance has a global P2P product, but its NGN pairs were delisted. The two services should therefore not be compared as if both currently support the same Naira trade.
Binance vs Remitano: Speed and Bank Payout
There is no fair end-to-end speed winner without a test using the same starting balance and Nigerian bank endpoint. A Binance spot order may fill quickly, but that does not mean the user has received Naira.
On Remitano, Market Price prioritises immediate in-wallet conversion. Bank payout can still depend on the selected route, account checks, banking network and transaction review. Measure the full journey to usable NGN, not only the first trade.
Binance vs Remitano: Trust, Security and Regulation
Binance publishes Proof of Reserves, states that supported customer assets are backed 1:1, and provides account-security controls and an emergency fund known as SAFU. Proof of Reserves is useful evidence, but it is not deposit insurance and does not replace local registration.
In Nigeria, the SEC has published a specific warning about Binance. Users should consider that alongside custody, withdrawal and account-access risks.
Remitano was founded in 2014 and has operated for about 12 years by 2026. Retech Labs' custodial wallet and exchange system is listed in the CryptoCurrency Security Standard registry as Full System Level 1. This is crypto-system security evidence, not a Nigerian operating licence, deposit insurance or a guarantee of zero risk.
Binance vs Remitano: Customer Support
Binance advertises 24/7 chat support, but availability does not establish how quickly a particular Nigerian case will be resolved. There was no equivalent Nigeria-specific support test that would justify naming a winner.
On any platform, keep order details, transaction IDs, blockchain hashes and bank receipts. For P2P, keep communication inside the platform so a dispute team can review it.
What the Product Differences Mean in Real Transactions
I have USDT and want Naira in my bank
On Binance, first confirm which live Nigeria route appears in the verified account. A spot sale that ends in USDT is not yet a cash-out to a Nigerian bank. On Remitano, the user can compare three different types of route: Swap inside the wallet, P2P with an individual trader, or an eligible Sell Coin bank route. The useful difference is not simply that three routes exist. If one route has a poor rate, unsuitable limit, unavailable merchant or settlement condition the user does not accept, another route can be checked before moving the funds to a different platform.
The How to Sell Crypto for Naira in Nigeria guide is the relevant preparation hub when the starting balance is already crypto. If the funds are still on another exchange or wallet, How to Cash Out Crypto from a Wallet or Exchange explains why the deposit network and receiving address must be checked before the Naira conversion begins.
I have Naira and want to buy USDT
P2P requires the buyer to choose an advert and follow that trader's price, limits and payment terms. Remitano's Buy Coin is different: it is an eligible bank-integrated route, so the user does not have to select an individual P2P seller. Swap can also use a supported NGN Wallet balance. The benefit is the ability to choose a route that matches how the user wants to pay, not a promise that one route is always cheapest.
I do not want to trade with another person
This is where Swap matters most. Swap converts supported crypto and Naira inside the Remitano wallet without requiring the user to find an individual P2P counterparty. Market Price prioritises immediate execution. Your Price, where supported, lets the user choose a preferred rate and wait for matching. P2P remains available for people who want to compare adverts, but it is not the only route.
The current P2P offer has a poor rate or unsuitable limit
Escrow is valuable on both Remitano and a competitor with comparable P2P protection, but escrow does not make an unattractive advert better. The Remitano advantage is lower dependence on P2P: the user can check Swap or an eligible bank route when the available advert does not fit the amount, rate or payment preference. That is a practical fallback, not evidence that every alternative quote will be better.
I want to sell now but decide later when to withdraw
After a supported conversion, the NGN Wallet can create an intermediate step between holding crypto and receiving money in a bank. The user can keep Naira in the account, withdraw later or use another supported route. This avoids forcing the next decision at the same moment as the sale. A P2P-only bank payment usually ends directly in the bank account instead.
The Bybit Review Nigeria 2026 covers a related platform model and helps show whether the same trade-off appears elsewhere.
How to Interpret Evidence and Trust
When this review says that a Binance feature was not verified, it means the public material reviewed did not establish that Nigeria-specific route. It does not prove that the feature can never exist, and it should not be converted into an absolute weakness. The live verified account remains the final check.
Remitano's trust case should also be read in layers. Founded in 2014, it has operated for about 12 years, which is evidence of continuity rather than a safety guarantee. Serving more than 15 million users worldwide shows adoption at scale. Retech Labs' custodial wallet and exchange system appearing as CCSS Full System Level 1 is independent evidence about crypto-system controls, not a Nigerian operating licence. Together, those points are stronger than relying on a single company claim, but they do not make any transaction risk-free.
The fair conclusion is therefore narrow: Binance may be the better product for global spot liquidity and a mature trading interface; Remitano is the stronger documented choice when the user's repeated task is moving between crypto and Naira and the user values fallback routes, a non-P2P option and the ability to hold an NGN balance.
Binance may fit you if you:
- mainly trade crypto-to-crypto;
- understand order books and advanced order types;
- can access the required products on your Nigerian account; and
- already have another verified way to move money between Naira and crypto.
Remitano is likely to fit you better if you:
- want to buy or sell crypto with Naira;
- want to keep crypto and NGN in one system;
- value a choice of immediate Swap, preferred-price execution, P2P and eligible bank routes;
- want P2P with crypto escrow; or
- prefer not to move crypto to another platform simply to cash out.
If the verified Binance route does not fit the amount or bank goal, compare the Best Binance Alternatives in Nigeria by the specific job each option replaces.
Final Verdict
Binance can still make sense for a Nigerian whose verified account can access spot trading and who already has a separate Naira route. Its current verified Nigeria proposition is incomplete, however, because no active NGN Wallet, deposit, withdrawal, spot, Convert or P2P route was established.
Remitano is the stronger choice for the defined Nigeria crypto–Naira task for the Nigeria-focused task of buying, selling and cashing out crypto in Naira. Frequently Asked Questions
Does Binance work in Nigeria in 2026?
The Binance app and registration page can be accessed, but services depend on the account and region. No native NGN service was verified, and Nigerian KYC and crypto-product access should be checked in a live account.
Does Binance support P2P NGN?
Binance delisted all NGN P2P pairs on 28 February 2024. A page with Nigerian settings does not prove that a live NGN market is available.
Can I deposit or withdraw Naira on Binance?
Not according to the current verified evidence. Binance stopped NGN deposits and withdrawals in March 2024, and no restoration announcement had been verified by the August 2026 research.
Can I trade spot on Binance from Nigeria?
Binance offers spot trading globally, but access for a KYC-verified Nigerian account requires confirmation inside that account. A global product page does not prove regional availability.
Is Binance safe?
Binance publishes Proof of Reserves, states 1:1 backing for supported customer assets, and offers account-security controls and SAFU. Crypto custody still carries risk, Proof of Reserves is not deposit insurance, and Nigeria's SEC has issued a regulatory warning about Binance.
Is Binance or Remitano better for cashing out Naira?

What are Remitano's crypto–NGN fees?
The published baseline is 0.375% for a USDT/NGN Your Price maker order and 0.75% for a USDT/NGN Market Price taker order. BTC/NGN and ETH/NGN are 0.5% for makers and 1% for takers. P2P taker fees are 0%, while Remitano's platform fee for NGN deposits and withdrawals is ₦0. Live rates and possible bank or provider charges should still be checked.
